The Uffizi Gallery is one of the most famous art galleries in Italy. It houses a collection of paintings dating from the 13th to the 19th centuries, but is above all known as the museum that has the most important masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance than anywhere else in the world. It also has beautiful paintings from the German, Dutch and Flemish schools. We will not, of course, have time to look at the hundreds of works in the museum in detail. The aim of our audio visit is to discover the masterpieces of Italian painting in particular, with the accent on the special characteristics of Florentine painting. We let you the possibility to look independantly at the masterpieces of the other schools of painting.
The artists we will be looking at together are: Cimabue, Giotto, Duccio di Boninsegna, Martini, Fabriano, Uccello, Masaccio, Fra Angelico, Piero della Francesca, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Buontalenti, Michelangelo, Fiorentino, Raphaël, Titian, Parmigianino, and lastly, Caravaggio.

Entrance fee: 6,50 € Comments: The museum is the most visited tourist attraction in Florence. So to avoid a wait that can last up to 2 hours, you are strongly advised to book your ticket several days in advance. Reservations can easily be made by ringing 0 552 94 883, or if you are phoning from abroad, on 00 390 552 94 883. Advance reservations add an extra 3 euros to the price of the ticket. In our opinion, however, in the high season between April and September, this is well worth it. That said, if you forget to telephone, you can still buy your tickets in advance once you’re in Florence, from a ticket office situated at the Church OrsanMichele at the beginning of the Calzaioli Street. This street starts at the Piazza della Signoria.
