On this audio visite of the Alcazar of Seville we’ll be visiting one of the most magnificent royal residences of Spain. Its journey through history from its construction in 913 under the Caliphate of Cordoba to the present day will give us the opportunity to talk about the great moments of Spanish history whilst admiring the diversity of architectural styles used. We’ll be seeing the most beautiful examples of Mudéjar art where Arab artists put their precious skills to work for the Christians after the Reconquista of the mid 13th century. We’ll also see that gradually, Gothic and Renaissance additions were integrated into its structure. A tour of the Alcazar is an opportunity to spend an enchanting moment in the half-light of its reception rooms and to breath in the fragrant coolness of its gardens.
