On this walking tour, we will discover a section of London that is completely unique and for which there is no equivalent in any other European city. This district is dedicated to justice and law. On the one hand it includes the Inns of Court law schools where the clerks, barristers, notaries, and all of the members of the bar are trained; and on the other it includes the Royal Courts of Justice, which are the courts where private law cases are judged. All of these institutions are housed in sumptuous and enormous Victorian-era buildings, most of them typical of the impressive Neo-Gothic style, a favorite of the British who also call it “Gothic Revival”. In the old days this district was home to the Knights Templar, and even though the small church of St. Mary is all that is left of that era, its labyrinth of big and small inner and passages creates a unique and charming medieval atmosphere.
