Titian in the church of the Frari

Venice - San polo area

Monument - About 2h - 5€ (ex. suppl.2€) A Must

The church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, commonly known as the Church of the Frari, is one of Venice’s major monuments.
The tombs of the Doges Foscari, Tron and Pesaro, will give us the opportunity to evoke the political history of Venice. The church itself is a very beautiful example of the Venetian Gothic architectural style. Most importantly, it features several works by Donatello, Veneziano and Giovanni Bellini.
Finally, this audio visit is also an opportunity to encounter the illustrious Venetian painter, Tiziano Vecellio, also know as Titian. The Chuch of the Frari not only houses his tomb, but also two of his major works: the spectacular Assumption of the Virgin, and the revolutionary Madonna de Ca’Pesaro.
