During this tour, we’re going to examine some of the masterpieces of one of the largest painting collections in Germany. All the great names of Western Art from the Middle Ages to the 18th century are represented here. Naturally, we’ve chosen to show you the most celebrated paintings: The Virgin and Child Enthroned by Botticelli, The Lamentation of Christ by Hans Baldung, The Fountain of Youth by Lucas Cranach, The Middelburg Altarpiece by Roger van der Weyden, Portrait of the Merchant Georg Gisze by Hans Holbein the Younger, Saint Cecilia by Peter Paul Rubens, Christ on the Mount of Olives by Matteus Stom, Malle Babbe by Franz Hals, Man in a Gold Helmet by Rembrandt, The Glass of Wine by Vermeer, Self Portrait by Antoine Pesne, Portrait of a Woman by Velazquez, Amor Victorious by Caravaggio and Venus and Cupid with an Organist by Titian.
