Vienna

Vienna : city of art and history

Discover Vienna thanks to our audio guides and go through the city's history from the Middle Ages to the modern days. You will be impressed by the sizes of the buildings located on the Ring, the 2 and a ½ mile long boulevard which surrounds Old Vienna : the parliament, a ministry or the Kunsthistorisches Museum (museum of Art History). Everything here recalls us the rise of the Hapsburgs.
Vienna is one of the main cultural cities in Europe where all arts played and still play a major role. We think of the waltz and the music with Mozart, Haydn, Schubert and Mahler, of literature with Stefan Zweig and Musil, of architecture with its beautiful and impressive baroque monuments and also of painting with Gustav Klimt. Thanks to our audio walks and visits, you will really feel the atmosphere of the old Vienna.

This audio walk through the old town, in which we explore the Cathedral and its surroundings, is an ideal introduction to Vienna. We will be strolling through the historic centre of the city. Although Vienna has varied in size through the ages, it is in this neighbourhood, that history has been unfolding for almost 2,000 years now. It was here that the Hapsburg legend began. Our route is circular, starting and finishing on the square in front of Saint Stephen’s Cathedral. MORE DETAILS

The Hofburg and its outbuildings

Our audio tour will be focusing on the Hofburg district and its various outbuildings. When we say that the Hofburg was the principal residence of the Hapsburgs until 1918, this serves to highlight both the “Imperial” character of this area and its long history. As the showcase of Austrian power we can well imagine that nothing that was built here over the centuries was left to chance. We’ll see that conformism and anti-conformism are in fact two sides of the same coin.
