Europe

audio walks and visits in the main regions and cities of Europe

In each of these European towns, we introduce you to the most characteristic of its sites and monuments as well as trying to capture the spirit of the place through our audio-walks. These MP3 audio walks introduce you to well-known places, but also take you off the beaten track. A Medieval courtyard here, an old-fashioned brasserie, carpenter’s workshop or modern designer’s studio there; we discover hidden alleyways and charming gardens - all  glimpses  that will help you capture the flavour of the city.
You will also discover important or colourful characters whether they be monarchs, artists, heroes or sometimes just mythical figures. Their stories often help build up a picture of the history of the times. And of course, each time a place captures your imagination, do not hesitate to “press pause” and linger there. You can then take up your visit or audio walk where you left off.

Vienna

Vienna : city of art and history

Discover Vienna thanks to our audio guides and go through the city's history from the Middle Ages to the modern days. You will be impressed by the sizes of the buildings located on the Ring, the 2 and a ½ mile long boulevard which surrounds Old Vienna : the parliament, a ministry or the Kunsthistorisches Museum (museum of Art History). Everything here recalls us the rise of the Hapsburgs.
Vienna is one of the main cultural cities in Europe where all arts played and still play a major role. We think of the waltz and the music with Mozart, Haydn, Schubert and Mahler, of literature with Stefan Zweig and Musil, of architecture with its beautiful and impressive baroque monuments and also of painting with Gustav Klimt. Thanks to our audio walks and visits, you will really feel the atmosphere of the old Vienna.

Split and Dubrovnik

"If you want to see heaven on earth, come to Dubrovnik" wrote George Bernard Shaw. Known as the pearl of the Adriatic, it has been chosen as a Unesco World Heritage Site and is one of the best-preserved fortified mediaeval cities in the whole of the Mediterranean.
The Dalmatian coastline stands at the crossroads of the South-Eastern Mediterranean and Northern Europe. The Ancient Romans established a stronghold in the region and in the 3rd century A.D. the city of Salona was to become the birthplace of one of the last great Emperors, Diocletian. He abdicated following his ruthless persecution of the Christians, returning to his homeland, where he built a vast, opulent palace, giving rise to the city of Split.
Discover, understand and appreciate the fascinating cities of Dubrovnik and Split with our walking tours and audio-guides.

Seville

Quien no ha visto Sevilla, no ha visto maravilla

Andalusia is the mirror of the Mediterranean civilizations whose fusion gave birth to Iberian culture. Phoenicians, Romans, Visigoths, and finally - and most markedly – Muslims have all left their mark on the Andalusian peninsula. It was here that the greatest clash between Islam and Christianity took place. We invite you to decode the signs of these various encounters, in the vibrant and lively labyrinthian streets of Seville.
In the 17th century, Seville’s direct contact with Spain’s colonies in the Americas made it a thriving centre of intellectual and artistic activity with famous names such as Velázquez, Zurbarán and Murillo all working here. We invite you to see for yourself the truth of the saying: “Quien no ha visto Sevilla, no ha visto maravilla.” (He who has not seen Seville, has seen no marvels).

Salzburg

The Rome of the Alps

Salzburg was designed by the Prince Archbishops, who ruled the city until the 19th century. With a view to creating a smaller version of Rome, they erected a city that was a breathtaking example of religious Baroque. The city has undoubtedly got style: it is protected on three sides by wooded hills and the narrow lanes that flank the holy buildings, emerging into vast piazzas, make it a highly romantic spot. As we walk along, we'll naturally get an opportunity to talk about its most famous citizen, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Our audio visits and walks will introduce you to its main neighbourhoods and monuments.

Budapest

Between east and west

Budapest delights the visitor with its variety. Having played the role of Christianity’s bastion against Islam, it has maintained an exotic atmosphere – the result of centuries of Turkish occupation. A crossroads of cultures, Budapest wraps itself around the Danube, which separates aristocratic Buda from industrious Pest. Despite its eventful history, it has maintained all its charm and sparkle. Its palaces, art galleries, and its art of living, demonstrate its desire to become the most Western of all Central European cities. Infatuated with Parisian fashions, it rivals Prague and Vienna for the exuberance of its Art Nouveau architecture, and it dazzles by the luxury of its marvellous cafes. Budapest is a bridge between East and West.
3 more audioguided MP3 visits will be available later this Automn:
Two dedicated to Pest, and one reserved for the beautiful collections of the Museum of Fine Arts.
