The Gallerie dell’Accademia is Venice’s most famous and prestigious museum. Its collections cover the period between the 14th and the 18th centuries.
For this guided tour, we have selected masterpieces that illustrate the richness of the great periods of Venetian painting.
· From the 14th and the first half of the 15th centuries, we will discuss the birth and affirmation of the Venetina Gothic style, through the works of painters Paolo and Lorenzo Veneziano.
· From the second half of the 15th century, we will address the emergence of the Renaissance, though the works of great artists such as Bellini and Giorgione.
· From the 16th century, the Golden Era of painting, we will study the three great Venentians: Titian, Veronese and Tintoretto.
· From the 18th, we will explore the last great works of Venetian art: the religious and theatrical paintings of Tiepolo, as well as Canaletto and Guardi’s cityscapes.
