Little-known Dorsoduro and Tiepolo

Germany - the western side of Dorsoduro

- About 2 hours - 5€ (ex. suppl.2€) Novel

On this of two walking tours in Dorsoduro, you will discover a lively district of Venice that has somehow managed to escape the crowds of tourists. Our walk begins at the Campo San Pantalon, just south of the great church of the Frari, and ends at the Campo Angelo Raffaele next to the church of San Nicolo dei Mendicoli. We will cover a little over a mile to allow you to discover a very different Venice – one that hasn’t been turned into a museum. This is a living Venice inhabited by locals, with a fishermen’s quarter and a deliciously quaint and picturesque charm. Still, even a little-known part of Venice such as this neighborhood hides authentic masterpieces by the greatest Venetian painters, in particular Veronese’s last painting, and the Scuola Grande dei Carmini, often referred to as the Tiepolo museum.
