The Borghese Gallery is one of the most prestigious museums in Rome. Its important art collections are housed in the Villa Borghese, situated in the centre of a large park that is one of the most popular places for a delightful stroll in Rome. We have chosen 20 masterpieces from its world-class collection. From among the sculptures, in addition to Canova and a couple of Antique sculptures, we will discover some of Bernini’s most famous works: his David and The Rape of Proserpina. Bernini is undoubtedly the most important artist of the Baroque era in Rome. On the second floor we shall concentrate painting through works by Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Correggio, Lucas Cranach and Antonello da Messina.
